VILLA HISTORY

Villa Beoulaygues is built on the grounds of a 12th century monastery of the same name, indeed the ruins can still be seen in the large 2 hectare garden.

Pilgrims on their way to Lourdes used to stop off and refresh themselves with the well water, renowned for its quality (the name Beoulaygues is Occitaine for 'good water'), and were able to identify the monastery from far away by the magnificent pine tree which still dominates the garden 900 years later.
